Thoughts on Today's Verse

"The LORD... delights in those whose ways are blameless." Proverbs 11:20

Thoughts on Today's Verse by Phil Ware
I am confident that the Lord will say, "Well done, good and faithful servant!" Why? Not because I'm perfect, but because Jesus has forgiven and cleansed me and the Holy Spirit is working to perfect my behavior to match my standing before God.
I don't know about you, but I am thankful to know that we can bring the LORD delight. Just as our children can bring us delight. Just as a good dessert can bring us delight. Just like a beautiful sunset enjoyed with someone we love brings us delight.
Yet, all the earthly comparisons must pale before the delight of God, for He and His feeling for His people far exceeds any mere human emotion.
All we can say in the face of such an opportunity to delight our God is, "Lord Jesus, help me to delight you, even as my frail efforts fail. Help me to delight you because I delight in you and allow you to flood my failed efforts with your glorious fulfillment in my behalf."
My Prayer...
May my words and my actions bring you delight, O LORD, my God! You have done so much for me, dear Father, I want to bring you great joy! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
