Pray Anywhere

"Be still and know that I am God."

There are times in every life when it is difficult to be still. As determined as we may be to be filled with faith and to employ the power we are told is ours (see Romans 8:11), we are still weighted down by the burden of anxiety that we find so difficult to place at the feet of Jesus (see I Peter 5:7).

We want to live a life that is an epistle before all men that tells of a God who has overcome not only death, hell and the grave but also all the problems that plague men. Yet we fail. When the tally is made of our moments of spiritual fortitude vs. our hours of faithless faltering, the scale tips in evidence of our unbelief.

At those times, when we have failed ourselves and disappointed the Holy One we desire to please, we know He is whispering to our heart, "Come to me, you who are weary, and I will give you rest."  Matthew 11:28

We know He invites us to give our burdens to Him and to rest in the arms of His mercy and grace. We know the sweet hour of prayer is our place of refuge.

May we seek its solace, may we find its blessing.
