Modified Prayers

George Washington Carver was a man worthy of admiration and emulation. He rose from the most humble beginnings to achieve great accomplishments in the fields of science and farming.

It is said that when he beseeched the help of the Lord in discovering His secrets of the world, the Holy One told him that the world was too big for him to find out its secrets.

Dr. Carver asked again and again, lessening his request with each prayer and each time, he was denied on the same ground.

Finally, his prayer was reduced to the simple, "Lord, teach me the secrets of the peanut," and as you know, this amazing man of science and faith discovered uses for the peanut that range from peanut butter to plastics.

What secrets will God unfold to you if you ask for His help? What problems can you overcome? What accomplishments can you achieve?

What glory can you bring to the Savior when you relinquish your talent to Him?
