The Political Season

It's the political season. Candidates for various offices, especially the office of president, are making their pitch for your vote.

On the Democratic side we have Hillary Clinton who has wanted to be president virtually her whole life...not because she has any great desire to improve the country but because she wants this trophy to be added to the list of positions she's already held.

It must be observed that she has performed poorly at every post she's had, but with the mindset of the country, the probability is that she will be elected.

On the Republican side, there is Donald Trump who seems to have absolutely nothing to gain by being president. Trump possesses wealth that is beyond our ability to imagine. His lifestyle rivals that of royalty.

Whether his business acumen could be successfully applied to the depleted condition of the country and it could be salvaged from self-destruction is a question we all must weigh when we cast our ballot in the voting booth in November.

But no matter who is elected to occupy the White House in 2016, the reality is that nobody can save this country but the ONE who raised America up in the first place.

The history of this land is interwoven with the miraculous. From the testimony of Indians who shot George Washington without their bullets harming him to tales of angels holding the wings of aircraft with their engines shot off so they could land safely during WW II, the whole scope of the existence of the United States is steeped in the wonder of a hand of blessing upon us.

And it is that Glorious One who can save us if HE will. May we who profess faith in Him be on our knees before Him; may we implore Him to revive us, to cleanse us from individual sin and collective national sin.

May we be a II Chronicles 7:14 people who repent and turn from wickedness so He may heal our land.
