Wendell Phillips on January 28, 1852, speaking to members of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society said: “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty; power is ever stealing from the many to the few."
Phillips' words are as significant to us today as they were when he spoke them. Wendell Phillips was addressing free men with the powerful truth that ALL MEN must be free.
Today, we are free men, VOTING to determine whether we shall remain
free or relinquish our freedom, our power to politicians whose intent is
to wrest our freedom from us.
Don't be deceived, the price of your freedom is still your eternal vigilance.
Don't be deceived, the price of your freedom is still your eternal vigilance.
