Words to Ponder

"The people have the king they want." I Samuel 8:1-22

The LORD HIMSELF had led the people of Israel...unlike any other nation in the world, they had divine leadership, but they wanted to be like other people; they wanted to have a king. They got what they wanted.

People in AMERICA will vote today for "the leader they want." Today's vote, along with so many of yesterday's choices which have been made by a people who have strayed far from the HOLY ONE, will bring us to the point of having a new president.

At this juncture in time, may all people of faith be praying--about the vote each casts and about the outcome of the election.

Some CHRISTIANS are convinced that Hillary Clinton has been selected by GOD as HIS JUDGEMENT against a wayward and corrupt people.

Some CHRISTIANS believe that Donald Trump is GOD'S man of the hour, chosen to give a wayward populace one more chance to serve the GOD of their forefathers and to abide in a land of faith and prosperity again.

Some CHRISTIANS cannot bring themselves to vote for either major candidate, citing the fact that both are corrupt. To them I would say that all of us are fallen; all of us are corrupt. There is not and has never been a perfect candidate.

Someone wiser than I has said, "IF YOU CANNOT VOTE FOR THE PERSON, VOTE FOR HIS POLICIES."

Remember that this president will appoint several Supreme Court Justices. Do you want those justices to be liberal or conservative?

Remember that this president will guide immigration policies. Do you want open borders that allow an influx of unvetted people from terrorist nations or do you want a careful selection of immigrants?
Remember that this president will control state secrets. Do you want a president who will sell those secrets to the highest bidder or who will guard them--thereby guarding you and your family?

Remember that this president will impact taxes that affect not only your pocketbook but the bottom line of business enterprises. Do you want fewer and less taxation for yourself and for businesses or do you want more?

These and so many other options must be weighed as you vote today, keeping in mind that a vote for a third party candidate is not going to garner a win for your candidate of choice.

You have only two viable options.

Vote carefully and PRAYERFULLY.

We just may have the leader YOU WANT.
