Today's news offers a new kind of tourist attraction! In Rome, Italy, a 'reality tour' is offered of Nero's palace.
The palace itself covered the span of three football fields and its opulence is amazing to behold. Nero lived in splendor beyond the ability of most people to conceive.
Even our wealthiest eight people in the world (whose combined wealth equals that of half the world's population) might have a difficult time imagining the majesty of Nero's abode.

Yet the main thing
that struck my mind as the virtual tour was presented via the news was
that after that momentary experience of incalculable wealth and power,
after that brief possession of artistic wonders beyond imagining, Nero
is now abiding eternally in hell.
Nero, who sent Christians to their death in the Colosseum for his amusement; Nero who used Christians as human torches to illumine his nighttime festivities, is now in the throes of misery in the depths of an eternal nightmare.
Though we might enjoy seeing Nero's palatial wonders as visitors to Rome, may we not make his mistake of believing GOD is to be trifled with.
May we be mindful of GOD'S immutable WORD that says, "Behold, NOW is the accepted time; TODAY is the day of salvation," for no man--no matter how great he is or how vast his wealth--will escape death.
May your death be 'unto life,' as JESUS' "unspeakable GIFT" promises to you.
