Praise Him in ALL Things
I understand that some of you are in a "desert place" as this holiday season approaches. You feel you have little, if anything, for which to give thanks to the LORD. I know these words will have a hollow echo in your heart, but I must say them:
THE CHRIST YOU LOVE AND SERVE IS WITH YOU IN THE DESERT, AND HE IS DOING A WORK WITHIN YOU THERE THAT WILL ASTOUND YOU WHEN IT HAS CULMINATED IN YOUR DELIVERANCE--IN YOUR BLESSING.
If you can trust JESUS in the most difficult place in your life, you will have defeated the enemy at the point of his most fearsome attack against you.
The WORD of GOD that cannot fail and cannot lie admonishes us to praise GOD in all things. I will share a small point of victory in my own life:
Many years ago, when I was much younger, I had two precious little babies who, although they could not yet talk, seemed to have conspired to keep Mommy awake every minute of the day.
The older child, who was one year old, had begun to sleep through the night but napped very little in the daytime. The younger child, who was newborn, slept all day but was wakeful during the night. I had begun to despair of ever closing my eyes again!
When I was exhausted beyond words, a friend ordered a subscription for me to a magazine called, "New Wine." I appreciated the kind gesture, but had no time to read it. One day, when I was about to fall over from fatigue, I slumped into a chair and flipped the magazine open to an article about praising GOD for all things, trusting HIM when circumstances seemed most bleak.
I lifted a prayer to the effect that I loved my babies and was thankful for them and praised GOD for them and for the fact that HE would help them to sleep on a better schedule.
That night, for the first time, both babies slept all night and they even began to nap at the same time through the day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was surprised, but not surprised. The LORD was faithful. HE had always been faithful, and HE again, very graphically, demonstrated HIS faithfulness at the point of a very profound need.

So use this Thanksgiving season to begin thanking and praising GOD for your circumstances--thereby you will be affirming to HIM that even if the results you desire don't come tonight, they will come.
You will be affirming to HIM that you believe HIS promise is true: "WEEPING MAY ENDURE FOR A NIGHT, BUT JOY COMES IN THE MORINING." Psalm 30:5
