"GOD IS LOVE."
One inescapable truth about love is that it is one with GOD. If we don't love HIM, whatever love we give is a counterfeit of that amazing emotion.
If you think you love someone, or if you think someone loves you, measure that love against the love you have in your heart for JESUS and by how much you treasure the love that JESUS gives to you.
If you and JESUS are right, you will rightly love everyone whose life touches yours -- and you will rightly measure the love another person purports himself to give to you.
Give and accept nothing but genuine love. Counterfeit love spends, but only until you realize that what it buys is a worldly perversion of GOD'S love and is no real love at all.
