October Jobs Report Smashes Expectations as Wages Also Move Upward - Western Journal
The Trump economy defied expectations in October, adding 128,000 jobs despite the effects of a since-settled General Motors strike. In announcing the robust job creation numbers for October, the Bureau of Labor Statistics recalculated some past months, showing even stronger economic growth than had been reported earlier. The report showed that in August, the economy added 219,000 jobs, instead of the 168,000 initially reported. In September, the economy added 180,000 jobs, not 136,000 as initially announced.
President Donald Trump was quick to share the economic good news with his Twitter followers. "Wow, a blowout JOBS number just out, adjusted for revisions and the General Motors strike, 303,000. This is far greater than expectations.
