LORD JESUS, help us as individuals and as a people to return to the foot of the cross. Help us to hunger and thirst after YOU and YOUR righteousness. Help us to return to the faith on which this nation was established.
Oh, GREAT GOD, there have been two "great awakenings" in this land, times when men's hearts poured out the vanity of worldly pursuits and filled with revival fire. We ask that a third such awakening occur.
We who love YOU desire that all men know and love YOU, whom to know is LIFE! We ask YOU to cause YOUR HOLY SPIRIT to move so profoundly across this land that no one will be excluded from the invitation HE extends that brings lost humanity from the darkness of sin to the salvation that is found in YOUR light.
Let our somnolence be overcome. Let us be awakened again to the glory
of the CHRIST who sets us free from sin and brings us out of its
darkness and bathes us in HIS light.
