Public Television


Decades after Mr. Rogers' speech before the Senate committee, public television's contribution to children is still being invested into the lives of our nation's children.





In 1969, Fred Rogers - known to many as the host of "Mister Rogers Neighborhood" - gave the following emotional plea in front of the United States Senate. President Nixon was trying to cut funding for PBS. Mr. Rogers was trying to save it.
