Think About Memorial Day

As We Think About Memorial Day

A bit of research reveals that there was one really bad thing about the Confederacy--slavery. Not all Confederate soldiers were slave holders nor did they support the concept of slavery.

In their positions on many other things, they were more closely adhered to the Constitution than the Union was then or has ever been since. However, slavery became, as perhaps it should have, the defining point of the Civil War.

Don't be quick to revise history--especially without knowing what it actually is. Compare the South's position with the North's in matters of states' rights and governmental over-reach.

In having rid ourselves of the diabolical scourge of slavery, may we not allow ourselves to be robbed of the viable points of the Constitution that the South fought for.
