Dear God in Heaven,
We who name the name that is above all names call upon You who are all merciful and loving and ask that You reach down to those who are in need and meet them where they are.
We ask You to lift their weighty burdens--burdens of sickness and joblessness and anxiety and despair--and let them know that JESUS invites them to, "Cast your cares upon Me, for I care for you," I Peter 5:7.
We ask that You touch the hearts of men of means to give of their
abundance to relieve the suffering of these who have given the best part
of their lives to serve their country. We ask that You touch the
hearts of men of modest means to give as the widow gave her mite from
her megre supply.
Your love and concern for man sent JESUS to the cross. May we who believe in HIM allow our love and concern for our brothers send us to the aid of those who suffer.
