Abortion

Abortion is a scourge upon our nation. Since 1973, it has been a woman's 'right to choose,' and countless millions of pre-born babies have lost their lives to that right.

Many would insist that her right to abort her child supersedes the child's right to life, which is guaranteed in the Constitution. Conceding that point, may the suggestion be made that her right to choose should be made in the drug store prior to conception rather than in an abortion clinic after conception.

What many others would argue is that legalizing abortion has been the primrose path down which many have pursued license over responsibility in their sexual behavior, that abortion has become the solution to the problem of disregarding God's law.

Whichever argument seems justified in ones own mind, the reality is that abortion has become a scourge upon our nation, for our national conscience has been seared and we have become inured by the wanton cruelty of abortion to many other forms of man's inhumanity to man.

The nightly news bombards us with scenes of unspeakable horror but we don't see it. Perhaps we are blind to the escalation of terrorism and war because our eyes have seen the body parts of these helpless victims and we have thereby become desensitized to human suffering.

May GOD help us to view His gift of life as He sees it. May GOD renew our sense of wonder at the miracle that is wrought each time a child is conceived. May GOD give us the resolve to defend life, for it was to give us life that JESUS submitted Himself to death.

If He cherishes life so much that He endured the cross so we may live eternally, should we not cherish life enough to assure that babies in the womb are allowed to come to birth?

Should we not cherish life enough to assure to them the Constitutional guarantee to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness"?

Should we not cherish life enough to allow them to hear the good news of a SAVIOR who came from glory with whom they may live and reign eternally?
