HE Gives Us the Victory

There are some aspects of life that we simply can't manage on our own. Fortunately, we don't have to.

Our human nature is always in conflict with the Christ-nature that becomes ours when we allow JESUS to wash away our sins and make us new in Him. When we are redeemed, we are transformed from creatures of darkness to people of light. When we are redeemed, we appropriate God's purposes and relinquish our own.

But there will be challenges along the way as we endeavor to live out our new lives in CHRIST because GOD'S ancient foe, our mortal enemy wants nothing less than to destroy our new life.

The evil one will not content himself to tempt us and then abandon his effort when we resist him. Yes, the WORD of GOD says, "...Resist the devil and he will flee from you," James 4:7, but he will not abort the mission to bring us down. When he has retreated for a season, it is to revamp his strategy and reorganize his assault.

Yet though he attacks again, and again, people of faith may be assured that we will be secure in the fortress of the LORD. We may be confident that the enemy will be defeated, for as I Corinthians 15:57 tells us, "God gives us the victory through our LORD JESUS CHRIST."

When under attack, we may simply turn to our SAVIOR and say, "JESUS, YOU have already won this battle for me, and I stand in faith on YOUR promise of victory!"
