Our personal lives and our national life have fallen short of the glory of God. We are a blessed people but we have allowed our rich heritage of faith and ingenuity and prosperity to become lost in the shuffle of our wealth and our ability to supply our own needs from our own resources. Our reliance upon the HOLY ONE has become negligible because we are confident in ourselves.
But there are faithful followers of JESUS CHRIST who see our dilemma and who are praying for revival. We are asking our Living SAVIOR to intervene into our personal and our national lives with revival that melts away the dross of our lives and leaves the pure gold of faith in JESUS.
Toward that end, at opposite sides of the country, people are gathering
to pray. One of those assemblages of believers will be in our nation's
capital. Let us lift up these men of faith who are binding their
hearts and minds in fervent prayer for our land and for our people.
The second group is meeting tomorrow as well--at Azuza Street! Yes, at Azuza Street where the HOLY GHOST and FIRE fell a century ago and faith reached a fever pitch and swept across the nation, men of faith are joining again in fervent supplication for our nation and for our people!
May our expectation be added to theirs that the LORD will move among them, that they will grasp the fervor of revival to an even greater degree, that they will so fully tap the power of the LORD that each of them will bring back to their respective locations a holy fire that will ignite the hearts and minds of all men--believers and unbelievers alike!
We add our expectation to theirs that strongholds will be brought down and that the work of the enemy will be crushed under the feet of those who boldly proclaim Christ, that the lost and dying will come alive in the power of LIFE that JESUS has placed within those who believe.
We pray that the HOLY GHOST and fire will sweep over everyone in this country--citizens and illegal aliens, religious and irreligious, honorable and dishonorable, peaceful and bellicose--and that the strongholds that prevent each of them from knowing and loving JESUS would be brought low and HIS NAME would be lifted up!
May a Third Great Awakening wash over this land! May revival transform us from a nation resting on the laurels of the faith of our forefathers to a people of passionate commitment to the LORD JESUS CHRIST!
