Performance is what counts. If you fail to exceed a certain pre-requisite, you will be discounted. This kind of expectation upon a man demands that he be goal driven, that he be self-oriented, that he be determined to lead the pack, no matter what he must sacrifice of personal integrity or personal relationships.
The LORD isn't like that. He doesn't require man to bring HIM his best. HE asks each of us to bring our worst to HIM. When we do, HE will bathe it in the provision HE has made for our total well-being, and HE will make it to be more than enough.
