Feelings

Pent up emotion will find a release, and when it comes, it may have the effect of a volcanic eruption in the ocean that swells the water to overflowing and floods everything in its path with catastrophic devastation.

Self-control is a laudable character trait. Keeping our emotions in check is a mature and healthy way in which to comport ourselves, but suffering in silence, holding back our feelings when we are pressed to the limit will not prevent the ultimate explosion that will come if we have not given expression to the trauma we encounter.

Sometimes it's difficult to find a confidant with whom to share our anxiety. We are concerned that we will be betrayed, that our trials will become the fodder of gossip, so we maintain our silence.

If we have denied ourselves of human confidants because humans can be untrustworthy, we must not neglect our HEAVENLY CONFIDANT. We can be sure that the secrets we whisper to HIM in our prayers will remain with HIM; we can be secure in the confidence we place in JESUS.

Let us "come boldly to the Throne of Grace where we will find help in time of need." Let us be certain that the ONE who has the ability to supply all we need will indeed provide the strengthening we require when our emotions are stretched to the limit.

There is nothing--no physical need, no emotional need, no financial need, no mental need, no spiritual need--people just like you require that the LIVING and ETERNAL GOD cannot supply.

Remind yourself, at the point of your need, to "ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE."
