How Can You Destroy Yourself?

How can you destroy yourself?

Perhaps the most effective way is by denying who you are.

And that is not to say that you should not endeavor to improve yourself, to hone your strengths and to overcome your weaknesses. It is merely to affirm the reality of the old Yiddish proverb that says, "If I am being someone else, who will be me?"

Having good role models is essential to children, but the role of a good role model is not to mold the child into a clone of himself but into a confident, upstanding, strong individual who can be emulated in a crowd, who can deal affirmatively with life.

As the truth of identity realization is central to each individual, so it is essential to nations. That is why the white-washing of our history because our history reveals our national sins is unwise and untruthful.

We must not allow our past sins to be covered over by a politically correct desire to change who we were, or we will be overtaken by a delusion that will prevent us from becoming who we are meant to be.
