Oklahoma House Declares Abortion 'Murder'
Oklahoma House Declares Abortion 'Murder' - CNSNews.com
The Oklahoma House of Representatives passed a resolution on May 8
declaring abortion to be murder and directing "every public official" in
the state to use their authority "to stop the murder of innocent
children by abortion."
The resolution does not have the force of law but it does reflect the
policy view of the Oklahoma House, which has 101 members -- 74
Republicans, 26 Democrats, and 1 vacancy. The resolution, HR 1004,
passed by voice vote, and was introduced by Rep. Chuck Strohm, R-Jenks.
The resolution, in part, states that "all human life is protected by
God's law and the highest laws of the land," and that the Declaration of
Independence explains that "all human beings" are "endowed by their
Creator with the unalienable right to life."
Further, "the Constitution of the United States mandates that no state
shall deprive any human being of life, liberty, or the pursuit of
happiness without due process of law, nor deny any human being within
its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
