Trump's Transgender Position
Some are adamantly opposed to Trump's banning of transgenders from the military, stating that the President is being discriminatory against a segment of the population.
Those supporting President Trump cite the extremely higher medical costs associated with transgenders than with the general military population.
One thing that has been unmentioned so far is the fact that the military has traditionally excluded certain categories of people from service in the military--ranging all the way from those with asthma to those having flat feet.
Until the transgender issue, no one has disputed the right of the military to establish its criteria however it deems best for the efficiency and strength of the military itself, not based upon the feelings or opinions of the individuals whose inclusion is rejected.
