End-Times Super Church

End-Times Super Church by David Wilkerson Reported by James Bailey

David Wilkerson was the founder and Pastor of Times Square Church in New York City. In 1973 he received a vision of the end-times. In 1974 he shared his vision in a book, “The Vision“. He also summarizes what he saw in the 52-minute audio message shown below. Excerpts from parts of the audio are transcribed in this post.

David Wilkerson’s vision aligns with warnings from Jesus, but with more details. Jesus warned us the world would enter into a time of birth pangs prior to the end of this age. The first event he identified during the birth pangs would be the rise of false messiahs, people who would present themselves as his followers, but in reality they would be his enemies, leading many of his people astray.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, “Take heed that no man lead you astray. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray.” (Matthew 24:4-5)

David Wilkerson saw two super churches would arise during the end-times.

The First Super Church
David Wilkerson saw the first super church would be a visible, political world power. Its’ formation would appear to be impossible, but it would come together following a sudden mysterious chain of events. It would begin as a cooperative charity program, but would later become a political union of Catholics and Protestants under the leadership of the Pope. At that time, the Pope would emerge as more of a political leader than a spiritual leader. Concessions would be made by both Catholics and Protestants to unify the new super church.

I see the rise of a super world church. I see the formation of a super world church council consisting of a union between liberal, ecumenical Protestants, and the Roman Catholic Church joining politically hand-in-hand to create one of the most powerful religious forces on earth. This union is going to start as a cooperative charity program and it will end in a political union.

This visible super world church is going to be spiritual in name only, freely using the name of Jesus Christ, but will in fact be antichrist and political in many of its activities. This powerful church union will be deeply involved in social action, tremendous charity programs, and ministries of compassion. Its leaders will make statements about meeting human needs. They will send out a call for social action, political intervention, and a greater voice in world affairs.

There is going to be a sudden mysterious chain of events. Just when it appears the ecumenical movement is nearly dead, a rather mysterious chain of events will bring about the framework for this union. Rome is going to insist on and receive concessions from the Protestant ecumenical leaders. The Pope will be considered more of a political than a spiritual leader of this church union.

Protestant leaders of the ecumenical movement are going to insist upon and receive concessions from Rome. Protestants will not be asked to consider the Holy Father as the infallible head of the church. They accept his political leadership without accepting his role as Peter’s successor.

This super church would be Christian in name only. They would publicly use the name of Jesus as they perform charitable works, but beneath their outward appearance they would be run by people filled with the spirit of antichrist. David Wilkerson described how these false Christians would harass and persecute every religious organization that refuses to submit to their authority.

I see something that frightens me to the very core of my soul. I see an army of career people invading the most influential posts in this super church. They are going to be ungodly, antichrist people, obsessed with the idea that this super church must become a big political power, strong enough to defeat anybody who opposes its actions. While those who are in leadership are speaking about miracles and love and reconciliation, these hirelings who work under them are going to be harassing and persecuting every religious organization that does not come under their leadership.
David Wilkerson saw this super church would welcome and even encourage the practice of homosexuality. They would ordain homosexual ministers and honor them as a new breed of evangelists.

I see homosexuals and lesbians welcomed to the super church union. I see this super world church, in the guise of understanding, accepting homosexuals and lesbians into its’ fellowship. Homosexual and lesbian love will be vindicated by the leadership of this church union. Homosexuals will not only be welcomed, but they will be encouraged to continue in their practices. Homosexual and lesbian ministers will not only be ordained and given places of authority, but they will be heralded as a new breed of pioneer evangelists introducing new concepts of love and evangelism.

I see in nearly every major city in the United States and around the world, homosexual churches catering exclusively to the spiritual needs of their own kind, with full recognition from organized religion. Their Sunday school and church literature distributed to their children will suggest to teenagers that homosexuality is a normal and acceptable form of Christian practice.

He also saw some of the members of this super church would embrace anti-Christian practices such as nude dancing in church and occult practices.

Nude dancing in some of these member churches will be excused as an artistic form of worship. Men are going to become worshipers of the creature more than worshipers of the creator. God will be forced to give these kinds of worshipers over to their sins. As a result, many will be given over to a reprobate mind, creating a new form of mental illness that will not respond to any kind of treatment. God will not let that go unanswered. Although nude dancing will not become widespread, it is going to be accepted by many church leaders in the future as a legitimate expression of worship.

I believe this super world church will condone certain occult practices. They will set up study committees to de-fang the devil. They will make his image into one of a non-entity, bland, someone not to be feared. In some of the most respected, wealthy churches in America, séances will replace prayer meetings and that is already happening. More and more ministers are going to be intrigued by the supernatural planks of the spiritualist and Satanist groups. I see the day coming when certain ministers who have never been too close to Jesus will get very close to the devil.

Satan is going to appear as an angel of light to deceive, if it were possible, the elect, the chosen of God. Satan’s own ministers will appear as these angels and will try to spread the message within the church that the enemy, Satan, is not to be feared. The super church will never officially accept the occult practices outright, but phrenology, palmistry, fortune telling, and horoscopes will be widely respected and accepted.

The Second Super Church
David Wilkerson saw the rise of another super church during the end-times. Instead of being political like the first church, this one would have almost no political power. Instead, they would be filled with supernatural power. Instead of speaking out openly and visibly like the first church, the second church would be silent on social issues and would operate invisibly to the world, even going underground to avoid severe persecution. However, the same persecution that forces them to go underground would also cause them to unite and draw closer to the Lord. In his supernatural power, they would boldly proclaim the gospel throughout the world.

I see the rise of a super church, a supernatural invisible church, a union of deeply spiritual followers of Jesus Christ, bound together through the Holy Spirit and mutual confidence in Christ and in his word.

This supernatural church of true believers will become a kind of underground church. It will include Catholics and Protestants of all denominations, young and old, black and white, and people of all nations. While this visible super church gains political power this invisible body of believers will grow tremendously in spiritual power.

This power will come from persecution. The persecution madness that is coming upon this earth will drive these Christians closer together and closer to Jesus Christ. They will be less concerned about denominational ties and more concerned and emphasis on the coming of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit will bring together as one people in all walks of life.

Although this supernatural church already exists around the world, in the days coming soon it will become almost invisible. It will not speak out on social issues, but as persecution becomes more intense, this body of true believers will become almost radical in its’ evangelistic efforts. In addition, this invisible church will receive supernatural unction and Holy Ghost power to preach the gospel to the four corners of the earth.

Conclusions:
I believe we are now drawing close to the time when we will see the “mysterious chain of events” that brings about the formation of both super churches. The trigger events could be the economic trouble coming in 2015 and the dramatic increase in persecution of Christians around the world in the past few years.

While these storms have been brewing, Pope Francis has been on a mission to unite the world’s religions. I documented his actions in my previous post, Pope Francis Taking Unprecedented Actions to Unite World Religions. I believe he has set the stage and prepared the world for the next step, which brings about the formation of an alliance between Catholics and Protestants with the Pope as their political leader.

An example of his growing political role is his upcoming speech to the United Nations on September 25 2015. This will be his first Papal visit to the United States. Amazingly his visit coincides with the end of the shemitah year, which is the same time we were attacked fourteen years ago on 9/11 and then hit by the collapse of the housing market seven years ago. Many Christians believe we could see the death of the dollar in September 2015. So the timing of the Pope’s visit is either an amazing coincidence, or perhaps a planned event by the same people who are planning to take down the dollar.

As I stated in my previous post, I believe Pope Francis is a strong candidate for the second beast, the false prophet identified in Revelation 13:11-18. This beast is revealed as a spiritual leader because he has “two horns like a lamb” and he makes the people of the earth worship the first beast. But he will be more than a spiritual leader. He will also be a political leader because he is the one who implements a global economic plan, which causes everyone to receive the mark of the beast.

And he causeth all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bond, that there be given them a mark on their right hand, or upon their forehead; and that no man should be able to buy or to sell, save he that hath the mark, even the name of the beast or the number of his name. (Revelation 13:16-17)

The mark of the beast is all about controlling people by controlling their money. This high tech device will enable the financial elite to control the wealth of every person in the world. Anyone who resists or refuses to submit to their authority can easily be eliminated from their system, making it impossible for them to buy or sell.

So the second beast plays a dual role as both spiritual leader and political leader. If David Wilkerson’s vision is correct, this role will be fulfilled by the Pope. With big storm clouds now moving in, 2015 could be the year when the Pope steps into his new role.

Meanwhile, God has a plan for his people. Major changes are coming to the true church. Denominational walls are coming down. Doctrinal disputes are coming to an end. Man-made programs and schedules will be abandoned. Big name ministries will fade away. A worldwide army of nobodies will soon arise in their place. The Lord alone will be magnified.

The days of playing church will be over. We won’t have time for that any more. With the flames of persecution all around us, we will refuse to settle for anything less than genuine encounters with the Lord. From those encounters will come increased spiritual power and authority as we are filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit. Through his power working in us the glory of God will be revealed to the world, giving them one final chance to repent and be saved.

Jesus said his followers would do even greater works than he did (John 14:12). We have yet to see that prophecy fulfilled, but it will be fulfilled soon. The body of true believers will finally become the bride, the church without spot or blemish, who has made herself ready for the return of the Lord.
