It's September 23, the day many believe the world will end, but a lot of us have awakened to the seeming reality that rather than being the day when JESUS will come again and redeem us from this fallen planet, today will be a day just like all the others.
Today we will have dental appointments and luncheon engagements. Since it is a Saturday, working mothers will be attending to their other full-time job of being a homemaker ... vacuuming and scrubbing and dusting...meals will be planned for next week.

Today we will have dental appointments and luncheon engagements. Since it is a Saturday, working mothers will be attending to their other full-time job of being a homemaker ... vacuuming and scrubbing and dusting...meals will be planned for next week.
Life will go on as usual...with perhaps just a twinge of regret that today was not the day HIS promise to return was fulfilled.
Some of us, we who have failed HIM again and again, we who have made our own promises, may see it as what it really is -- another evidence of HIS grace in action.
We will reflect upon the BIBLICAL truth that tells us GOD is not slack concerning HIS promises; rather, HE is mindful of us, HE is patient toward us, giving us every opportunity to orient our lives as we know we should.
Perhaps we will realize that HE is giving us yet another chance to place our lives fully at the feet of JESUS; to acknowledge HIM completely as SAVIOR and LORD; to reconcile our wayward lives with HIS perfect eternal provision.
Perhaps.
