The pope has taken positions that are untenable to many Catholics. Tradition and established rules have governed the Church for centuries and new ideas are not readily accepted.

The progressive Pope Francis has found himself battling an ecclesiastical insurgency from within the Church. In response to socially liberal positions held by Pope Francis which defy Catholic doctrine.

A group of ranking Church leaders have issued a “filial correction” to the pope for propagating heretical positions on “marriage, the moral life, and the reception of the sacraments.”

The 25-page letter signed by 62 Church officials from 20 countries was sent to Pope Francis on Aug. 11, and after over a month with no response, the signatories decided to release the letter to the public.

It remains to be seen how the publication of this document will impact church adherents. It is hoped that the release of the "filial correction" will result in many people who profess belief in CHRIST re-evaluating their own faith, for indeed, no matter what the pope's official dictates may be, it is the heart of each individual that the LORD judges.
