Kneeling in Protest vs. Kneeling in Worship

Kneeling in Protest vs. Kneeling in Worship by Bill Keller
Former Obama chief-of-staff and Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel recently analogized that national anthem “kneelers” were no different than people who kneel in church.
One of Emanuel’s brothers, Ezekiel Emanuel is the architect of Obamacare. The whole strategy of Obamacare is to collapse the private insurance business leaving only the federal government to provide healthcare. Sadly, the plan has almost succeeded.
Another Emanuel brother, Ari, is a high powered Hollywood agent and the inspiration behind the HBO series “Entourage.”
Intelligence and worldly success pervade the Emanuel family, so Rahm did not make such a foolish analogy out of ignorance, he made it because he really sees no difference between those who kneel during the anthem and those who kneel at church!
Athletes kneeling during the National Anthem are making a social statement by disrespecting our flag, our nation, and all those who died to give us the incredible freedoms we enjoy.
IT IS DIFFICULT TO COMPREHEND THE FACT THAT THESE ELITE ATHLETES WHO MAKE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS A YEAR TO PLAY A GAME CAN HAVE SUCH DISDAIN FOR THE NATION THAT HAS ALLOWD THEM TO RISE FROM OBSCURITY TO THE PINNACLE OF WEALTH AND INFLUENCE!
People who are kneeling in church are doing so as a sign of surrender, adoration, and worship to Jesus, the One who died on a cross so our sins could be forgiven and we could be reconciled to God our Creator for all eternity!
It is mind boggling and disheartening that Rahm Emanuel has stooped to equate those kneeling in protest against our nation and those kneeling in church in worship to Jesus. THIS BASELESS COMPARISON IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW THE WORLD MARGINALIZES AND DISRESPECTS PEOPLE OF FAITH.
It is important that believers recognize the twisting of truth that is being perpetrated -- not only regarding athletes but in so many other areas of endeavor -- and in recognizing the distortions that are being presented as reality that we stand against the lies.
The only way we can discern the truth that is smeared in deception is by kneeling before our LORD and making HIS TRUTH our strong foundation and our unshakable tower of refuge.
