Gene Simmons certainly is not commonly associated with Christianity. He is not noted for a stalwart life of faith, lived in the shadow of the Savior. Indeed, he is best noted for his garish make-up and worldly successes in the music realm.
But, it appears at the inner heart of the man, beyond where temporal success was achieved by hard-driving music with self-gratifying themes, this man has embraced the TRUTH that sets men free.
And he has taken a stand for a godly young man who lives his Christian faith steadfastly before all watching eyes. And Simmons has taken a stand for the LORD JESUS.
Tim Tebow does not need his defense, and certainly JESUS does not need
his defense, but it is to his credit that he extends it, for Jesus said
that whoever declares HIM among men will be declared before God the
Father. (See Matthew 10:33.)
Simmons' declaration of defense is also a sobering reminder to all of us that one day, "Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD." Romans 14:11
