Without addressing the sin of the rest of the world, simply recognizing the sin of these United States of America, acknowledges how far a society can fall from grace in one short generation.
In the span of one
lifetime, our nation has gone from being the world's staunchest
protector of freedom to a country where the freedoms of our own citizens
are tenuous because an ever-expanding government has been allowed to
encroach into more and more areas of life...areas our founding fathers
never expected it to touch.
Our Supreme Court, once a bastion of wisdom, has degenerated into a proponent of every manner of evil. Perhaps the most vile of its sins was the sanction of the slaughter of the unborn.
While these innocents may be slaughtered in abortion clinics rather than being sacrificed on the altar of Baal, they have certainly been offered up to the same demonic entity that demanded the deaths of babes at his altar. The god of sexual license still demands his due.
Our representatives, elected by the people, were once attuned to the voice of our citizens, but today's crop of senators and representatives hearken only to the siren call of special interest groups and foreign contributors whose only desire is their own aggrandizement.
Individuals, once anchored in the tenets of Christianity, have fallen prey to the allure of false gods and to the "pleasures of sin for a season." There is a generation of young people coming up who know nothing of the bedrock foundation of this nation in the truth of Christ that sets men free...the only freedom they know is license and their behavior reflects abandonment of good in exchange for a wanton pursuit of iniquity.
The erection of this monument to Baal while our churches stand empty is a testimony against us as a nation in the Court of Heaven.
May we who believe in the LORD JESUS CHRIST cry out for mercy for our nation and its people...may we implore the GOD of HEAVEN to send HIS HOLY SPIRIT to revive us and to renew our faith.
If we will submit to the HOLY SPIRIT'S wooing, we will be cleansed and renewed...the evil monuments in our cities will be torn down along with the evil in our hearts.
If we will not surrender to the HOLY SPIRIT of the ONE TRUE AND LIVING CHRIST, we will perish, just as have perished the godless nations that preceded us.
