Waiting

Waiting isn't easy.

We live in a world where doors swing open when we approach them, where food that once required hours of preparation can be produced in minutes ... why wouldn't we expect that when we pray, God's answers would be instantaneous?

But, HE sometimes requires us to wait.

Joseph had to wait in an Egyptian prison before he was ready to take on leadership that would enable him to be used of God to save the known world from starvation.

Paul had to wait in a Roman dungeon in order that his timeless letters could be written...and when he was finally led forth it would be to his execution! But we have his epistles that lead us forth to truth and life.

Jesus Himself had to wait. He had to grow up in a small desert town where He plied the carpentry skills He learned from His stepfather until He began a three year ministry that took Him to the cross but led to our salvation.

Are you waiting for something? Waiting isn't easy, but the outcome of waiting on the Lord always brings us to something precious.
