Jackie
Gleason, aka "Ralph Cramden," tells his lovely "wife" Alice, (Jane
Meadows) that the joy of CHRISTMAS is having someone to come home to
that you're crazy about.
He's right--up to a point.
It is wonderful to have the precious gift of family and friends to visit you, to support you, to enfold you in their love. It's fabulous to have someone you are "crazy about" to hold you close and love you ...

It is wonderful to have the precious gift of family and friends to visit you, to support you, to enfold you in their love. It's fabulous to have someone you are "crazy about" to hold you close and love you ...
...but as you're celebrating the precious gift of love that you are
given by those who are dear to you, be mindful of the "unspeakable GIFT"
of love (II Corinthians 9:15) that has been given to you by the HOLY
ONE.
Be mindful at this glorious season of the ONE who left the REALM of GLORY to be born as a babe, to be lain in a manger, to be raised on dusty roads and quiet villages, to grow up to be led to a cruel Roman cross where HE would die for you.
If you leave the original CHRISTMAS story out of your CHRISTMAS celebration, you will have robbed yourself of the wondrous message of the greatest story ever told, of the greatest love ever given.
