Fear, anxiety, depression, loneliness are like a plague that settles over those who suffer at the holiday season. These battles are weighty all year but they are especially difficult to face when it seems the whole world abides in joy--everyone but you!
Though the circumstances that cause these feelings of depression may not change, the perception of the sufferer can change if he or she will "CAST ALL YOUR CARES UPON JESUS, FOR HE CARES FOR YOU." I Peter 5:7.
JESUS came to free us from all the chains of sin--including those that bind our hearts and minds. HE shed HIS precious blood to wash us clean and to make us new. Let us take that first step of receiving HIS "unspeakable GIFT," II Corinthians 9:15, and then appropriate the wonderful provision HE has made for us: "GOD HAS NOT GIVEN US A SPIRIT OF FEAR BUT OF POWER, OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND."
