The LORD is my LIGHT and my SALVATION. Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the STRENGTH of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?
The days grow shorter and the nights grow longer as winter approaches. Some of us are less inclined to venture beyond the warmth of our four walls when it's cold and dark outside.
But light and darkness are not intimidating to GOD. The brilliance of
the daytime sun is not blinding to HIM, nor is the night shrouded in
darkness to HIS all-seeing eye.
Our precious JESUS is our LIGHT when we are engulfed in darkness.
Our glorious SAVIOR is our warmth when we are shrouded in the cold.
Though the winter of our years approaches with a steady tread, we need not fear its nearness for the LORD whose blood covers our sin and whose righteousness robes us in HIS perfect provision for our eternal home has promised that HE SHALL NEVER FAIL US NOR FORSAKE US.
Thank YOU, JESUS, for warming our cold and for lighting our darkness; thank YOU for being all we need for time and eternity.
Because of YOU, we need dread neither the darkness nor the cold of winter, for in YOU, we are not young and we are not old--we are eternal.
