The people of ancient Israel were given a promise. They were told that a Messiah would come to deliver them.
They waited, and much time passed. Many generations fell asleep without seeing the PROMISED ONE.
When HE arrived, HE went largely unrecognized.
The people anticipated a warrior leader who would throw off the
shackles of conquerors who had put a heavy burden upon them. From the
Egyptians to the Romans, they had known the anguish of being under the
yoke of infidels. They looked for an earthly king who would defeat
those who had conquered them
So when JESUS came to deliver them from their worst enemy--their own sin--they did not recognize HIM.
Does your sin stand between you and salvation? Are you so blinded by your expectations of life that you cannot see you are abiding in the death of separation from GOD?
Have you been disappointed when you attained your goals because you discovered that they did not bring the satisfaction you sought?
Can you patiently try again? Can you turn yourself around from worldly pursuits to seeking after the ONE who loves you and is waiting patiently for you?
