The Legend of the Candy Cane

When you have read this, you will view the traditional CHRISTMAS candy from a whole new perspective.

The legend associating Christmas candy canes with Jesus purports that the candy cane was first created as a symbol of Christ.

The white is symbolic of Christ's purity and immaculate conception, the red represents His blood and His promise of eternal life to those who believe in Him.

The hardness of the candy itself is a symbol of our firm and steadfast foundations in God.

The shape of the candy is purported by the legend to be symbolic, on the one hand resembling a J for Jesus, and on the other representing a shepherd's staff, intended to guide and help a lost flock.

May your enjoyment of this CHRISTMAS delight be made all the more profound by the legend surrounding it.

May the truth the candy cane represents be the anchor which holds your life securely attached to your SAVIOR for time and for eternity.
