Everyone
wants a secure place from which to experience life. Yes, people want
to venture forth at will into the exciting potential of adventure and
new experiences, but no one wants to be thrust into the unknown.
People of faith in the LORD know they have that secure place, that
mountain refuge where they can rest securely from the challenges of life
and the circumstances that beset them. People of faith know they are
protected by the ONE who loves them and gave HIMSELF for them.
It is the most wonderful and most blessed of assurances, to know that
life's trials cannot overwhelm the believer, but beyond that great
blessing is the ultimate assurance that the person of faith has been
rescued from the eternal flame of damnation.
The question posed
in scripture, "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and
lose his own soul," resonates through the mind of the person of faith,
followed by the answer that he must give: "There is nothing in life that
is worth the pangs of hell."
May each person arrive at the point
in his life where he sees time and eternity as GOD sees them; when he
recognizes the incomparable value of CHRIST'S unspeakable gift and
becomes willing to relinquish anything the world affords to him in
exchange for that gift.
May each person throw off the weighty
burdens of wealth and aspirations and accolades so he may flee
unencumbered to the mighty fortress that is GOD; so he may abide
securely in GOD'S HOLY MOUNTAIN.
The Lord is our shepherd, song, light, fortress, strength, tower, redeemer, and He is all we need!
