Swearing In the New President and Vice President
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has the duty to swear in the in-coming President of the United States, so John Roberts will be tasked with the swearing in of Donald Trump; however, there is more latitude in who will do the swearing in of the Vice President.
The Trump team has selected Justice Clarence Thomas to do the honors for Mike Pence, thereby making Justice Thomas the first black Supreme Court Justice to swear in either a president or a vice president.
