Thomas Sowell has very succinctly stated a truth of which our elected leaders seem to have lost sight.
Nobody has a 'right' to any portion of what you have earned. Indeed, it is your privilege to be generous--to give to people and to institutions whose worldviews concur with yours--but it should not be your 'obligation' to contribute to the government's idea of supporting entities whose values do not concur with those you hold deep within your heart.
