When Things Don't Make Sense
Why would anyone coming to America wish America to become like the countries they left behind?
Why doesn't everyone immigrating to these shores value the freedoms they find here?
If you don't know the answers to those questions, it is because you are
so steeped in the liberties you have enjoyed here from birth that you
cannot comprehend what it is like to have been reared in another
culture, under a system that does not value freedom but touts
submission--the total immersion of ones self into the belief system in
which you were born.
Women under shariah law are considered to be of lesser value than men and must be under the authority of men for the entirety of their lives.
Women under shariah law who are raped are often executed while their rapist(s) go free.
Women under shariah law are subjected to genital mutilation and they in turn subject their daughters to it.
Women under shariah law cannot inherit an equal share of an estate.
Women under shariah law cannot give a testimony in court that is not substantiated by witnesses.
Why do women from islamic nations wish to continue their subjugation?
Because they have been steeped in the belief system that holds them in bondage for not only their lifetime but through the lifetimes of their mothers for countless generations past--and they believe what they have been brainwashed to accept as truth.
American women have no concept of how living under such a belief system has impacted the minds and spirits of their muslim counterparts. American women who empathize with and support their sisters who demand change, who vocalize support for shariah law in this country, have no idea what they are espousing.
Unfortunately, it may not be until freedom is lost and shariah is implemented that understanding comes.
