Veterans' Day

Today we pause to say "Thank you" to the brave men, living and dead, who have given of themselves for the sake of freedom.

Lord JESUS, we would not forget to bow before Your throne of mercy and grace and beseech You to wrap those who serve in Your love and power and protection. We ask You to put a hedge of safety around them so that no attack of the enemy can prosper against them. We ask You to hold them securely in the hollow of Your loving hand and to return each one safely home to loved ones at the appointed time.

We ask You to guide and guard this nation that they serve. We ask that You send Your Holy Spirit to stir within the heart of this people, to restore our faith in YOU and to cause us once again to esteem YOU above every treasure of life and to bow only before YOU, the One True and Living God.

We ask that on this VETERANS' DAY and always we will honor our military and that we will forever honor and glorify YOU.

May the words of II Chronicles 7:14 be on our lips: "IF MY PEOPLE, WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN WILL I HEAR FROM HEAVEN AND FORGIVE THEIR SIN AND HEAL THEIR LAND."

Let it be, O Lord. Let it be.
