Armor

Armor

Most of us don't have much use for armor. There aren't too many believers wearing helmets or carrying swords and shields. We don't ride mighty war horses or draw our swords against enemies of the faith. The closest some of us may come is 'concealed carry' in states where being armed is legal.
But that's not what we need primarily, for "we wrestle not against flesh and blood but with evil spiritual powers in high places." Ephesians 6:12 Swords and shields and concealed carry are not the weapons of our warfare.

The armor we require is for the protection of our minds and spirits, for even when the enemy is not assailing our physical bodies (which he may do through injury or disease or criminal assault or war) his effort against our minds and our spirits is relentless.

The best protection that can be afforded to the heart of a believer, to the seat of his faith and his emotions, is to have Christ and His immutable Word hidden there. (See Psalm 119:11.)
When the evil one comes against the believer with an onslaught of lies regarding faith or prayer or the nature of God, the best defense a person of faith has is, "THUS SAITH THE LORD!" Psalm 119:128

The best armor the blood-bought Christian has against the wiles of the arch enemy of JESUS is his steadfast knowledge of the WORD! Oh, Believer! Study it! Fill yourself with it to overflowing! Pour it out everywhere you go!

Let the WORD nurture and guard your soul and let the WORD cause those around you who know HIM not to be bathed in the truth that will set them free and guard them from the wiles of the enemy!
Become a mighty warrior for faith in Christ; "put on the whole armor of GOD, and when you have done all, STAND!" Ephesians 6:10-13
