JESUS is coming in power and great glory, just as HIS WORD proclaims.
Some don't believe. Although "the heavens declare the glory of GOD and the earth shows HIS handiwork," they deny all they see in order to stand in their unbelief.
For some people, it is easier to accept by faith the theory of evolution, the notion that man came to be by evolving from a cell that emerged from the primordial slime than to believe the BIBLE which declares man's origin to be in GOD.
Just as unbelieving men deny HIM as CREATOR and attribute creation to
some natural phenomena, so do some men deny HIS second coming They,
too, contrive outlandish ways to endeavor to prevent HIS return.
There is a belief system whose ultimate intent is to rule the entire world and to subjugate all life to its tenets. They deny the deity of CHRIST and believe that HE will come as a henchman for their 'Mahdi.'
The Islamic 'jesus' will be a butcher who ruthlessly slays anyone who will not submit to the rule of Islam. The BIBLE refers to the Mahdi and the Islamic 'jesus' as the Antichrist and the False Prophet.
The ascension of the BIBLICAL JESUS into heaven is described in the Book of Acts. We are told that HE arose as believers gathered around and watched HIM depart.
An angel said, "Ye men of Galilee! Why stand ye gazing into heaven? This same JESUS who is taken from you will come in like manner as ye have seen HIM go." Acts 1:11
To assure that JESUS cannot return as HE left, Muslims have built a cemetery at the point of HIS departure into heaven. The reason for this is that according to scripture, a high priest is not permitted to be in proximity to death.
Believers know that the purposes of GOD cannot be thwarted by the actions of men, so ultimately, this is a feeble attempt to prevent the return of the BIBLICAL JESUS, but it is also an evidence of the degree to which the evil one will take a man who chooses not to accept JESUS as SAVIOR and LORD.
