Many Christians have given up something for Lent, and this is a right and proper thing for believers to do.
The purpose of sacrificing something one enjoys through Lent is to better acquaint oneself with the concept of sacrifice, to deepen ones understanding of CHRIST'S incomparable sacrifice for mankind.
Though nothing can approximate, let alone equate to the LORD'S sacrifice of HIMSELF for humankind, man does get a taste of what relinquishing something important to himself involves.
As you go through this season of Lent, may you recognize that the one
thing the HOLY GOD who sacrificed HIMSELF for you truly wants of you is
the sacrifice of your self on the throne of your heart in order that HE
may occupy that spot.
As you go through this season of Lent,m may your eyes see and your heart feel and your lips proclaim the importance of giving yourself up completely to JESUS so JESUS may fill you completely with HIMSELF and transform you from a well-meaning sinner to a blood-bathed, redeemed saint.
