The world around us seems to be crumbling...the entities in which we have trusted, the circumstances upon which we have relied, are failing us at breakneck speed.
Evil is on the ascendancy--not just the wickedness in 'other' places but here. In our country, which Alec Tocqueville once described as, "...a nation with the soul of a church," evil hands are pulling down the abiding Christian values and faith in JESUS that have been the pillars upon which our society has stood strong.
Believers are disheartened by the options available to them in
November...believers find it difficult to cast a ballot for either
presidential candidate.
One is a traitor who has accepted financial aggrandizement from America's sworn enemies, has abandoned besieged Americans to torturous death at the hands of ruthless terrorists, has mishandled top secret documents with impunity, has escaped the law that would have placed any other public servant in prison...and the list could go on.
The other is completely outspoken and almost daily makes a new statement that causes those who are inoculated with political correctness to cringe.
But, of one thing we must be reminded in the gloom of human sins and failures and foibles, and that one thing is that "JESUS IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER." Hebrews 13:8
When all else is changing for the worse, when the end times scenario seems imminently upon us, we should take heart and hold on to faith in the ONE who promised to come back.
Even as the apostles stood gazing as HE ascended into Heaven, awed at HIS majesty and forlorn at HIS departure, the angel spoke.
He said, "You men of Galilee! Why do you stand forlorn as you gaze into the sky? This same JESUS, whom you see leaving, will return in like manner as you have seen HIM go." Acts 1:11
JESUS will be back.
