Something to Think About

It is significant that two of our quotes today come on the eve of the Democratic Convention.  They are most important for voters to ponder at this junction in time.  They are:

"It is only when the people become ignorant and corrupt, when they degenerate into a populace, that they are incapable of exercising their  sovereignty. Usurpation is then an easy attainment, and an usurper soon found. The people themselves become the willing instruments of their own debasement and ruin."  James Monroe
"Don't ever give up in freedom what we would never have given up in persecution!"  Persecuted Christian Pastor on the danger of freedom

As Bernie Sanders spoke, it became apparent that his endorsement of Mrs. Clinton was a bald-faced lie.  His encouragement of his followers to support her flew in the face of everything he said about her during the candidate-selection process.  His own integrity has been betrayed by his 180 degree turn about regarding this failed, gravely flawed woman.

How can he encourage anyone to vote for someone he stated "...is totally unqualified to be president"?  Do her mismanagement of top secret information, her complicity in the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, her close association with entities that seek the destruction of our nation, her undermining of Sanders' own candidacy through the efforts of Debbie Wasserman Schultz mean nothing anymore!

Were these viable considerations only when Bernie Sanders' own candidacy was at stake?  Do these grievous and traitorous actions on the part of Mrs. Clinton mean nothing as regards the future well-being of our country!

Voters must obviously weigh the candidates for themselves.  Voters must obviously not be swayed by a man, a socialist, who puts his political party's success in November above his nation's, his culture's survival!

Are we at the point about which President Monroe warned:

"It is only when the people become ignorant and corrupt, when they degenerate into a populace, that they are incapable of exercising their  sovereignty. Usurpation is then an easy attainment, and an usurper soon found. The people themselves become the willing instruments of their own debasement and ruin."

Are we at the point where we can endorse an unindicted criminal (you can be certain that if YOU did the things Hillary Clinton has done, YOU would be in jail!) as president of our nation?

Are we at the precipice about which the persecuted pastor warned:

"Don't give up in freedom what we would never have given up in persecution!"

For if we are, the loss of our freedom is near at hand.
