Refuge

In this day of opening the borders of our nation to unvetted immigrants who may or may not be the refugees they are purported to be, we may discover that those whom we have welcomed have come, not to assimilate among us but to annihilate us.

If that happens, we will find ourselves surrounded by an enemy we cannot easily identify, an enemy combatant who does not wear a uniform but plots our destruction from behind the casual attire of a neighbor.

What are we to do in this day when our leaders seem oblivious to our need for security and protection? What do we do in this day when our lives seem to be on such shaky ground? What do we cling to when everything around us is unsettled and insecure.

At times like this, we turn where we've always turned--unto the HOLY ONE who has promised to hold us securely in the hollow of His loving hand. The God who promised long ago to be "your refuge and your strength; a very present help in time of trouble," Psalm 46:1, is still mindful of His assurances to us today.

The HOLY ONE whose word is still "yea and amen," is still in the business of guarding and protecting His people.

Where is our refuge and our strength? WHO is our Refuge and our Strength? It is where it has always been. It is WHO it has always been.

Allow JESUS to enfold you into His salvation--and there you will abide safely forever.
