God Will Bless Our Children

July 14

Parenthood brings its unique brand of concerns. Certainly, it holds myriad delights for the loving father and mother in their progeny, but it is also fraught with concerns for the well-being of the offspring that they cherish. Parents yearn for life to be good to their children.

God declares Himself to be our loving Father. He knows our frame. He knows our foibles and He knows the longing of our hearts. Because He understands us and has compassion on us, He has given us great assurances of His provision of our every need and longing of our hearts.

Isaiah 65:23 speaks to the hearts of parents regarding their children. It says, “They will not labor without success or bear children destined for disaster, for they will be a people blessed by the Lord.” It is a blessed revelation from the heart of the Lord who loves us that our efforts shall not fail!

When we have invested God's Word into the lives of our children, when we have labored to bring them to knowledge of the Savior who loves them, when we have obeyed His admonition to speak of Him to our young ones at every opportunity (Deuteronomy 11:19), we may be sure God will bless them.
