Stay the Course

July 25

They who are wise will keep their focus aright. The man who desires to gain earthly wealth and power will maintain his sights upon the goals he wants to attain and the avenue he must take to reach them.

The scientist in his laboratory maintains a careful log of variations to his experimentation so he will be able to recognize the slightest departure from the results he’s been seeing and attribute them to the correct variable.

Proverbs 17:24 tells us, “Wisdom is the focus of the perspective but a fool’s eyes roam to the ends of the earth.” This is another way of saying that the person who is highly distractible is foolishly robbing himself of the opportunity to attain a worthwhile end.

The wise individual, on the other hand, will keep his eyes and his energy riveted upon the desired outcome of his endeavors. Staying the course is the time-tested way of assuring that the destination attained by the traveler through earth’s challenges will be the heavenly one the Lord desires for him.
