Christianity is all about giving.
Jesus admonished His followers to go the second mile, to give their cloaks as well as their coats.
The ultimate gift is the life of Christ who gave Himself so that anyone who believes in Him will have life eternally in Heaven.

But redistribution of wealth by a government that is intent upon
transforming a free society into a socialistic one is a vast departure
from the Biblical spirit of giving out of a heart of love.
May the believer be ready to give all that he possesses, remembering that nothing is his own--everything he has belongs to God. Yet may he be ready to stand strong against governmental usurpation of what is his, for no elected leader has the right to require the fruit of one man's labor so another may receive without working.
God's holy word requires that we give out of love for Jesus, not out of bondage to a bloated government.
