The More You Know, the Less You Know

Men are often confused. Sometimes it seems that the more knowledge they have the more difficult it is for them to see circumstances with clarity. Perhaps this inability is no more obvious than in the area of weather prognostication.

Weather forecasters are 'all over the map'--figuratively and literally--when it comes to their predictions of if, when, and how a storm will hit. Of one thing those who look to them for advice regarding the weather must know is that the observations of the experts cannot be relied upon.

Rather than throw up our hands in despair, however, we who are at the mercy of not only violent weather events but also spiritual storms, may turn to the One who holds all things in the hollow of His hand. We may turn to Jesus and find the shelter we need to guard us against the winds and waves that have the power to destroy our lives and hurl our hope away in its force.

If we will, we may rest securely in Him until the storm is past. We may trust Jesus to save us from the devastation of life's storms and to keep us secure in the hollow of His loving hand when the winds and waves have subsided. He can help us rebuild upon the faith that sustains us in all circumstances, and to keep us in perfect peace as we do.
