Some Things Never Change

Some Things Never Change

Some things never change. Although it is exciting to contemplate the events that are prophesied to occur in the future and to discover by reading the Bible the countless fulfilled prophesies that have already occurred, it is even more blessed to rest in the promises of God that are unshakable and true--no matter how much change may swirl around us.

One of those great and precious promises Is found in Proverbs 18:10--"The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to Him and are safe."

Believers know they are not exempt from life's trials. Oh, yes, they are assured that His hedge is around them and they are secure in the hollow of the nail-scarred hand of the Savior, but that doesn't mean that the trials of life and the attacks of the evil one will not assail them.

Yet, no matter what happens, the person of faith can know beyond the shadow of doubting that there is a strong tower to which he may flee at the point of his struggle. That name that is above all names is a place of refuge from every wind and wave of life's adversity and every onslaught of the evil one.

When trials come, when doubts assail, when hope wanes, the God who took on flesh and dwelt among us reminds you that He came to bear your griefs and carry your sorrows (Isaiah 53:5). He reminds you that your sin and your pain are nailed to His cross--you are not carrying them alone!
He invites you to "Cast all your cares upon Jesus, for HE CARES FOR YOU," I Peter 5:7. Take Him at His word. Appropriate His promise. Flee to the strong tower that is His name.

                    JESUS!
